The Surface Transportation Board has reiterated its approval of a voting trust for the proposed merger of Canadian Pacific and Kansas City Southern railroads. The STB approved the planned use of a voting trust in May while the deal is reviewed by regulators. The Kansas City Southern later accepted a merger proposal from Canadian National, but CN’s request for a voting trust was denied. Without the voting trust, CN’s deal fell apart.
