The USDA will establish an Equity Commission as part of President Biden’s promise to create the group and to address historical discrimination in the agriculture sector. The USDA is requesting nominations for membership on the Equity Commission Advisory Committee. Also, nominees for membership for a Subcommittee on Agriculture. The Equity Commission will advise the agriculture secretary by identifying USDA programs, policies, systems, structures or practices that contribute to barriers of inclusion or access, racial disparities and more. The commission will deliver an interim report and provide actionable recommendations before one year after meeting. A final report will be released within two-years. Read more.
