Aaron Smith, who is the product manager for soybean herbicides at Corteva Agriscience, says weed resistance is the one issue that keeps him up at night. Smith recommends a program approach to weed control. “As weed resistance continues to develop, farmers want to do the right thing,” said Smith. “This program approach allows them to start clean and keep clean fields from early on in the season all the way through mid-season and that gives them more yield potential.” Corteva launched a new pre-emerge herbicide this year called Kyber. Smith is pleased with the first-year results. “Kyber was lights out this year on waterhemp.”
