As expected, the number of prevented planted acres was down significantly this year. Nationwide, there were 2 million acres of PP ground. That compares to more than 10 million last year. In the FSA acreage report, North Dakota had 3 million prevented plant acres in 2020. That dropped to just 50,000 acres this year. South Dakota had nearly 1.6 million acres of PP last year and only 47,000 this year. Minnesota reported 267,000 acres of PP one year ago and just 1,800 acres in 2021.
