The Lower Mississippi River is now open to all traffic. The Coast Guard reports power lines that blocked the river after Hurricane Ida have been removed and there has been significant progress in reopening ports and waterways throughout southeastern Louisiana. Deep sea vessels operating on the Lower Mississippi are restricted to daytime activity. As of Friday, there were 23 inbound and two outbound vessels cued up, waiting for the reopening. Sixty-five percent of agricultural exports move through the Port of New Orleans each year.
