North Dakota Agriculture Commissioner Doug Goehring is asking the USDA for flexibility on failed acres due to the drought. Goehring wants the USDA’s Risk Management Agency to consider allowing non-program crops, cover crops or forage to be planted on failed acres. This could help mitigate the drought impacts for fed for livestock as well as to protect the soils. Read more.
