As of Tuesday, hog slaughter line speeds will be forced to slow down by as much as 25 percent. A federal judge is allowing the USDA directive to move forward. An analysis by Iowa State University found this ruling will result in a 2.5 percent loss in pork processing capacity and will negatively impact hog prices.
