A new $500 million pork processing plant in Sioux Falls could be up and running by 2025. Wholestone Farms, which is owned by pork producers, is behind this project. Wholestone Farms began as an offshoot of the Pipestone system and now owns the Hormel plant in Fremont, Nebraska. The plant is expected to have an annual capacity of 3 million hogs.
