Total Farm Marketing Senior Market Advisor Naomi Blohm thinks traders were unsure how to deal with the increased soybean carryout in USDA’s June Supply and Demand report. “Plus, producers in North Dakota are still fighting drought and the rest of the Midwest is in need of rain.” Blohm says to be prepared for a very volatile market. “Be ready for this to continue into July due to the acreage report and quarterly stocks report coming up in June,” says Blohm. “There’s not much old crop left in the bin right now. Make sure you’ve got some good risk management plans in place.”
