During the latest Crop Watch broadcast, Golden Harvest Sales Representative Kyle Fode said there was widely scattered frost damage and some of it is severe. “We’re seeing frost damage in Thief River Falls and Mahnomen, Minnesota and crossing over into North Dakota, we’re seeing damage west of Fargo.” Most of the damage was in soybeans. Barnesville, Minnesota farmer Jake Thompson said the crop is widely variable. “We are seeing poor corn stands and the soybeans look ok, despite the frost damage. There is subsoil moisture, but it varies.” The Back Yard Agronomist Andrew Gorentz said the corn and soybeans near Perham, Minnesota can hold on a while longer, but a rain is needed.
