Bayer Crop Science is awaiting EPA approval of a new soybean and corn herbicide to deal with waterhemp, Palmer amaranth and other tough weeds. Diflufenican will be sold under the Convintro brand name and will be available in the middle of the decade for burndown and pre-germination application. Diflufenican is the active ingredient which has been used in Europe for several years. This would be the first availability in North America.
