Early season weed pressure in wheat has been limited in northwest Minnesota. Helena Agri-Enterprises sales representative J.J. Johnson, who is based at Oklee, says it is a different story in the soybeans. “There’s grasses and broadleaves coming; I think in the next two weeks there will be a lot of spraying if we can get weather conducive for it.” Product shortages are a reality this spring. Johnson is encouraging farmers to be prepared. “Be in communication with your retailers on what your plans are; it’s probably not the year to show up at the retailer’s door expecting them to have everything.”
