Nutrien finished the first quarter with net earnings of $133 million. That compares to a $35 million loss in the same quarter of 2020. The Nutrien Ag Solutions business was helped by strong retail sales and higher gross margin on proprietary products. Potash sales were near record levels. Crop prices also delivered positive news for the nitrogen and phosphate sectors.
