With cuts to highways and broadband, the White House has lowered the cost of its infrastructure plan from $2.3 trillion to $1.7 trillion. That’s still far away from the $568 billion proposal from Senate Republicans. Both sides are also far apart on how to pay for this infrastructure bill. There had been hope this bill would be in place before Memorial Day, but that seems unlikely at this point.
