The USDA will purchase up to $159.4 million in domestically produced dry beans, lentils and other products under Section 32 of the Agricultural Adjustment Act. This is one action the USDA is taking to address food supply chain disruptions form the COVID pandemic. USDA will purchase $4 million of U.S. navy beans, $10 million in lentils and $10 million for dry peas. Deliveries of the products are expected to begin in mid-August.
