Dana Peterson has joined Emerging Prairie as its chief strategy officer. Emerging Prairie is an entrepreneurial entity that is behind the Grand Farm south of Fargo. “The Red River Valley has been a region of innovation for generations,” Peterson told RRFN. “I see a lot of potential for the ag technology adopted on farm across the country.” Peterson is a Kansas native who had leadership roles with USDA’s Farm Service Agency and Department of Rural Development. Peterson also served as the chief executive officer for the National Association of Wheat Growers from 2010-to-2013. Peterson says the Grand Farm has a full slate of projects planned for this summer. “We have set up partnerships with companies and researchers from NDSU and UND and the Department of Transportation. We will be holding demonstrations for farmers to see what is being developed.”
