The feeder cattle market saw some light short covering ahead of the Cattle on Feed Report on Friday, but U.S. Commodities President Don Roose says the cash trade was disappointing. “With corn easing back, this gave us a pop to the feeder cattle, but the cash cattle market was disappointing, trading lower. Roose says feed costs are forcing feed lots to be very current. “I think part of the issue is with feed costs, ranchers are trying to move cattle at the optimum weight, no funny stuff.”
