The Bayer Carbon Program, an effort to pay farmers for adopting climate-smart farming practices, will expand this year doubling the amount of states where growers are eligible. Farmers enrolled in the program are paid up to $9 for every acre enrolled when incorporating strip till, no-till practices and cover cropping on the farm. The acres must be enrolled through the Climate FieldView digital ag program. Payments are made annually. North Dakota, South Dakota and Minnesota farmers are eligible for the program.
