Due to tight supplies, ethanol plants are competing more than usual for corn. Renewable Fuels Association Chief Economist Scott Richman is hopeful for adequate corn planting conditions and decent weather to replenish supply. Richman also said ethanol prices had been keeping up with corn prices up until now. “Inventories are still fairly low heading into the summer driving season. It is going to be a push-and-pull and we’ll have to keep an eye on developments in the corn markets and see how things go.”
