According to a new report from CoBank, farmers are in good financial shape heading into the spring planting season. Strong grain markets and sizable government support have resulted in an increase in net farm income. With prevented plant acres coming back into production, more than 10 million addition acres are expected to be seeded this spring. The report says farmers are spending more on fertilizer. Retailers are also experiencing shortages of crop inputs, which may cause issues at the farm level.
