Stockmen’s Livestock Exchange owner Larry Schnell says there’s good feeder cattle movement in the Dickinson, North Dakota area. “Western North Dakota did not get backed up from the cold spell like a lot of other places did. Finished cattle are moving, not at the prices many hope for, but they’re moving. To make money, they have to keep pens full.” At the end of the month, there will be a stock cow and bred heifer sale. Schnell says demand remains strong for bred heifers. “With the dry conditions, there’s still demand for good females, but not in big bunches.”
