A bonding bill is expected to come out of the new legislative session in Bismarck. North Dakota Corn Growers Association Executive Director Brenda Elmer says funds are needed for transportation infrastructure. “With the crazy year we had last year with harvest and planting often happening simultaneously, our roads really took a beating, especially the wettest areas.” Elmer says it makes economic sense to make this investment in roads and bridges. “With interest rates lower than inflation, if we delay this, it just makes fiscal sense to do this.”
