Last week’s spike in the corn market shows traders are concerned about the Argentina’s corn crop. “There’s news about Argentina not allowing corn exports until at least March 1 and they may have to go beyond that time period, depending on the weather in the next 30 days,” explained Mike Zuzolo, president, Global Commodity Analytics and Consulting. “January is a grain fill time period for the crop.” The run up in the corn price verifies for Zuzolo that global corn supplies are tightening.
