Over the past 20 years, aphids have become the most significant insect issue for soybeans. “When we look at the overall pest profile in soybeans, especially in the Midwest, aphids are the big one impacting yield.” The BASF pipeline has included Fastac and Sefina. In 2021, a combination of those two products will be marketed as Renesta. “One issue we see in the Upper Midwest is aphid resistance to the pyrethroid chemistry which has been around for around 30 years. Renesta has a new active ingredient that is highly effective on aphids.”
