According to Statistics Canada, the favorable growing season allowed Canada’s farmers produced more wheat, soybeans, corn and small grains last year while canola production was down. Total wheat production was up nearly eight percent on increased acreage and a yield of 52.2 bushels per acre resulting in total production of 35.2 million metric tons. All wheat acres were up 3.8 percent year over year to 24.8 million acres.
