The re-registration of the new dicamba formulations, including Engenia, is in effect for five years. BASF Midwest Regional Technical Services Manager Dr. Gary Schmitz says adjustments have been made to the label. That includes a national application cut-off date is June 30. “There’s also a requirement to add a buffer into the dicamba solution,” said Schmitz. “We have a buffer that we’re bringing to the market called Sentris which will help raise the pH and will help mitigate volatility.” Schmitz welcomed Engenia’s registration, saying it is an important tool to deal with weed resistance.
