Even though the 137th Annual Gathering of Angus cattle producers was simplified, this year’s event started on a high note. Former NFL wide receiver and Green Bay Packer Jordy Nelson spoke to convention attendees having said, in times of change, it’s all about elevating your game. “You’re going to make mistakes. No one lives a perfect life, and you can’t always handle everything that gets thrown at your all at once,” said Nelson. “One key thing is to try and do your best and don’t make the same mistake twice. That will help you continually get better and elevate what your doing.” After 11 years in the National Football League, Nelson retired and returned to the family farm in Kansas, where they raise crops and Angus cattle. Nelson told convention attendees he works longer days and harder now than he ever did in the NFL. “Playing football is honestly easier. The hour were a lot better,” he said. “By working on the farm, either chasing cows all day or being in the combine all day, the long day prepared me for the long days of training camp.” Listen to the story.
