There are a few pockets with corn still standing, but Dairyland Seed Regional Agronomist Bruce Weller says most of the crop has been harvested. Farmers are now focused on ditching and fall fertilizer. “The last couple falls we haven’t been able to do that. Right now, we can get a little more tillage done and get prepared for next spring and have an easier start.” With the economy, Weller is seeing more seed being pre-paid this fall. “We have producers that definitely taking advantage of that. It can lower the cost of production on some of these acres if they can do that.”
