Connecticut Representative Rosa DeLauro is requesting an investigation into whether the meatpacker JBS meets requirements for federal subsidies. In a letter to Agriculture Secretary Sonny Perdue, the representative said JBS has received more than $100 million in payments meant for struggling farmers and ranchers. DeLauro is vice chair of the House Ag Appropriations subcommittee, which is responsible for funding USDA.
