According to the latest USDA forecast, Minnesota corn yields are expected to average 202 bushels per acre this year. That’s up two bushels from the September report and an increase of 29 bushels from last year. Minnesota soybean yields are projected to average 52 bushels per acre, unchanged from last month and eight bushels higher than one year ago. Minnesota’s dry edible bean production is forecast to be record high, up 42 percent from last year. Sugarbeet production in the state is up 44 percent from last year’s disastrous fall season. Sunflower production is up 17 percent and canola production is down 39 percent from 2019.
