Corteva Agriscience is introducing Kyber herbicide for the 2021 growing season. Product Manager Aaron Smith says the preemergence soybean herbicide has three modes of action. “We know there continues to be resistance in soybean fields, especially around PPO and ALS chemistries. Weeds like Palmer amaranth and waterhemp continue to develop resistance. With Kyber and the three modes of action, it is going to be able to offer four-to-six weeks of residual control and in the right conditions, it can exceed six weeks of residual control.” Smith advocates a program approach to weed control, using burndown, preemergence and postemergence herbicides.
