U.S. Ambassador to China Terry Branstad will be retiring from his position in early October. According to a press release from the U.S. Embassy in Bejing, Branstad confirmed the decision with President Trump last week. Branstad said he’s proudest of the work getting the Phase One trade deal and delivering tangible results. He said we have made significant progress and will not stop pressing for more. Branstad served in the role for more than three years and will return to Iowa after leaving Beijing.
