Near Crystal, North Dakota, Brian O’Toole says small grain harvest went well this year and dry bean harvest is one-third complete. “I haven’t harvested pinto or black beans, but we have harvested navy beans. We are pleased with the crop. We had a fairly dry year up here, which is odd, because we usually have some drowned out.” O’Toole says the other classes of dry beans are dessicated and the recent cool temps haven’t made much of an impact.
