The National Agricultural Statistics Service is calling for record high corn yields in Minnesota and South Dakota. The average Minnesota corn yield is estimated at 200 bushels per acre, up three bushels from the August report. For South Dakota, corn yields are projected to be at 168 bushels per acre, up one bushel from last month. North Dakota farmers are looking at an average corn yield of 157 bushels per acre, up two bushels from August. NASS is forecasting average statewide soybean yields at 52 bushels per acre in Minnesota; 48 bushels per acre in South Dakota and 36 bushels per acre in North Dakota. These numbers are based on September 1 conditions. The impact of the recent freeze will be reflected in the next report.
