This past week’s freezing temps dinged the crops across the region. However, Shaun McCoy of McCoy Seed says conditions vary on a field-by-field basis. “It’s completely different from one mile to another,” said McCoy. “You could see two sets of leaves curling and a mile down the road you may not see any the green spots that started to die. We were right on the edge of that solid freeze, I think farmers should take time now to look every single field and remember that when harvest comes.” McCoy, who is based at Larimore, North Dakota, was featured in the latest Pioneer Agronomy Update on the Red River Farm Network.
