A group out of Iowa has reportedly developed the first-ever detection test for a gene-edited crop. The European Union plans to test imports for the presence of biotech canola, which is grown in the U.S. and Canada. This work was funded by non-governmental organizations that oppose biotechnology, including Greenpeace and the Non-GMO Project. This herbicide-tolerant canola is produced by Cibus.
