National Corn Growers Association CEO Jon Doggett says there are a lot of people hurting right now and the next COVID-19 relief package will provide much-needed assistance. The coronavirus knocked the U.S. corn market’s customers awry. “When our customers hurt, we are hurt,” explains Doggett. “When the ethanol industry shuts down, there’s a lot of corn that doesn’t get ground. The livestock industry is having some huge issues and they’re trying to work through those. Export sales to China in the recent weeks have been good, but we’re also seeing heightened rhetoric from both the U.S. and China on issues and we wonder what’s going to happen there.”
