South Dakota’s winter wheat harvest is nearing the halfway mark. “Farmers in South Dakota are very pleased with their crop. It seems like a once-in-a-lifetime crop,” says Dave Green, executive vice president, Wheat Quality Council. “There are good yields, protein and excellent kernel quality.” Green is also hearing good things about North Dakota’s spring wheat crop. Green will join the North Dakota Wheat Commission and North Dakota Grain Growers Association to take a closer look at North Dakota’s spring wheat crop in a virtual spring wheat tour tomorrow. Register for the event here. This Harvest Hotline update from the Red River Farm Network is made possible by U.S. Custom Harvesters, Incorporated, the North Dakota Mill and AgCountry Farm Credit Services.
