The U.S.-Mexico-Canada Agreement went into effect on July 1. In response, agricultural organizations shared positives of the trade deal. In a statement, the North American Meat Institute said the agreement is critical to meat and poultry processors and the U.S. food supply chain. Mexico and Canada are among the top four destinations for U.S. pork and beef. U.S. Wheat Associates said the agreement is essential to help grow rural economies. The agreement tightens the coordination of sanitary and phytosanitary rules. The American Seed Trade Association said they would be watching closely in the implementation of the deal.
