The Department of Transportation has released a final Hours-of-Service rule. The revised rule includes increased safety and flexibility for break rules, along with sleeper-berth and adverse driving conditions exceptions. Additionally, the maximum on-duty period for commercial drivers was lengthened from 12 to 14 hours and the distance limit was expanded from 100 air miles to 150 air miles.
