Discussions on a fourth coronavirus stimulus package are underway. For agriculture, the big debate could be structuring more aid for the industry moving forward. “Some people will look at getting more funds for the Commodity Credit Corporation, others will prefer more direct funding for the USDA and the CARES Act offered a combination of the two,” explained Brooke Appleton, vice president of public policy, National Corn Growers Association. “The other sticking point will be how Congress comes together for an agreement on increased SNAP funding and if they can provide funding for the ethanol industry.”
