A snowstorm and the collapse in the markets last week resulted in the rescheduling of the feeder cattle sale at Herried Livestock Auction. The sale will now take place tomorrow. “There are quite a few cattle that need to be sold,” said Joe Vetter, manager, Herried Livestock Auction. “Cattle prices have fallen severely at the tune of anywhere from $200 to $300 per head on feeder cattle and fat cattle prices have fallen that much or more. Also, calving season has started. Farmers need room and lots of farmers are running out of feed. It’s not a good time to be selling, but I don’t think the markets will recover much in the future.”
