The economic stimulus package responding to the coronavirus outbreak moved through Congress and was signed into law by President Trump Friday. North Dakota Senator John Hoeven was the driver behind the agriculture relief portion of this bill. “We worked really hard and steered almost $25 billion to help our farmers and our ranchers because our cattlemen have been hit really hard as well. These are small businesspeople and we need to get them through beating coronavirus.” Hoeven’s office received numerous letters of support from North Dakota agriculture groups, including the Farm Bureau and Farmers Union. North Dakota Soybean Growers Association President Joe Ericson thanked Hoeven for his work to fund the Commodity Credit Corporation, saying it provides USDA the resources needed to help farmers during a difficult time.
