Lake Benton, Minnesota farmer Bob Worth met with state lawmakers, Governor Walz and Ag Commissioner Thom Petersen in St. Paul this past week on the budget and farm policy. “In Minnesota we have a $1.5 billion surplus. The governor is concerned about where this money is going.” Worth says Section 179 conformity needs to be in line. “That has to be one of their top priorities. Some farmers are getting large bills from the state of Minnesota from 2018 if they didn’t follow the rules. Now, they’re figuring out how to pay that. If we can get this done, it would be retroactive to 2018. It would help a lot of people.”
