Bayer has opened a new state-of-the-art automated greenhouse facility in Marana, Arizona. Corn will be the only crop grown at the site and Bayer’s proprietary seed chipping, advanced marker technology will be used. By locating in the desert rather than the Midwest, Bayer researchers will have more days of warmth and sunlight. That will deliver three-to-four crop cycles per year.
