Ahead of the National Farmers Union Convention general session, Agriculture Secretary Sonny Perdue sat down with the Red River Farm Network to discuss the recently announced disaster aid to sugar cooperatives and pending quality provisions for WHIP+. “Determining quality losses are subjective. It’s fairly complex. We need to get it right, rather than fast. Hopefully, by late spring or early summer we’ll have those rules out about how quality loss issues will be determined.” Hear the interview.
