Northland Community and Technical College Farm Business Management instructor Betsy Jensen had one experience with Minnesota FFA she’ll never forget. “I actually went to Siberia with FFA if you can believe it,” says Jensen. “At that time, Russia was looking to start an FFA program of their own. We visited with students there, saw their agricultural practices and visited farms.” Fast forward to the present day, Jensen’s advice for FFA youth is don’t try to plan the rest of your life; take it day by day. “When you’re 15- and 16-years-old, picking out a college and a career, all of those plans may change. Very few people follow a straight line, so enjoy the roller coaster.” More highlights from National FFA Week can be found on the Red River Farm Network Facebook and Twitter pages.
