Minnesota Governor Tim Walz has proposed state funding of $30 million to replenish the Disaster Assistance Contingency Account. This provides emergency assistance and speeds up the recovery process for communities across the state following a natural disaster. The account also provides the required 25 percent share of state funding when FEMA declares a federal emergency.
