According to the long-range flood outlook from the North Central and Missouri Basin River Forecast National Weather Service Centers, there is an above average chance of widespread flooding this spring. That’s especially along stretches of the Mississippi River, Missouri River, Red River and other tributaries in the northern and central United States. The National Weather Service says some stretches of the upper Mississippi River, the Red River and the James River could reach major flood status.
