Disease is a reality for sugarbeet growers. Vive Crop Protection regional manager Vicki Dekkers says rhizoctonia is at the top of that list. “I would say almost everyone has some rhizoctonia. Soybeans are a host; dry beans are a host; corn is a host and so once it is in the soil, it is always there.” AZteroid FC is recommended for early season disease control. A new product to control sugarbeet root maggot is also available. “Midac can go in-furrow and mix with liquid starter fertilizers and with our product, AZteroid.”
